Hello and welcome from Argyle, Nova Scotia,  I’m so glad you are here!

I'm Maureen MacKenzie, owner and creator of M.E.MacKenzie Art.  I have been selling my art mostly through commissions and online e-commerce websites like Etsy. Finally, I have decided to take the next step and create my own website.

I grew up in a rural fishing community in southwestern Nova Scotia and have been fortunate to find my inspiration in the beauty of the area that surrounds me.  From the rugged coastal shorelines near my home to the green lush farmlands in the valley, there is always something beautiful to be seen.

Many of my paintings are inspired by photos taken by my husband - a lobster fisherman who can’t resist the urge to capture the many incredible views he gets to experience throughout his day on the water.   Fortunate for me!

In my spare time I like to read and spend time with my family. I am mom to two grown-up boys, and have two cute feline fur babies. I stay active with running, swimming and biking.  In recent years, travel has become an exciting part of my life with trips to many different European countries including a recent trip to Hawaii!
